Shannon manages the strategic and day-to-day operations for consumer and healthcare accounts. She leads the agency’s social media practice and serves as one of LCWA’s primary media trainers. Shannon excels at developing messages that break through the clutter. She has been with LCWA since 2001.
- Coordinating the public communications for the “National Healthy Sleep Awareness Project” with the CDC and American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
- Leading star-studded events and media outreach around the Todd Oldham by La-Z-Boy collection launch and the La-Z-Boy partnership with the cast of “Friends.”
- Managing communications around the multi-year Brown Line renovation for the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA).
- Garnering national media attention for products ranging from vacuums, toasters, water bottles and snow blowers to treadmills, cable services and mobile apps.
Shannon had experience at agencies big and small before landing at the “just right” LCWA. She represented consumer and B2B technology clients at a boutique tech agency, and worked with Fortune 500 brands at a major international agency. In addition to her broad consumer, B2B and corporate experience, she has served as a corporate spokesperson in the telecommunications field.
Shannon has served as adjunct faculty of DePaul University, teaching “Public Relations Campaigns” to upper-level undergraduates. She also contributes restaurant reviews and feature articles for regional magazines.
A native of Sioux City, Iowa, Shannon graduated from the University of Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English.
