Debra’s professional experience spans more than 25 years — on both sides of the television news cameras. An award-winning television producer and anchor, she currently manages public relations programs for clients in the fashion and healthcare industries and conducts media training for the firm.

Job Highlights

• Developing a video news magazine to help La-Z-Boy communicate with its dealers
• Establishing Swedish Covenant Hospital as a “go-to” resource for Chicago media
• Coordinating photo shoots with fashion editors for Tiffany & Co.

Before LCWA
Debra produced and anchored news programs at network affiliates in Jacksonville, Fla., Detroit and Cincinnati for 12 years. Her documentary on a foreign-exchange program in the Soviet Union won critical acclaim. She also has been involved in planning and executing coverage of some of the “mega-events” of our time, including a United States visit by Pope John Paul II.

Involvement
Debra is a regional Emmy Award winner, who has received numerous accolades for her television writing, producing and reporting.

Education
Debra hails from Highland Park, Ill., and graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor of arts degree in telecommunications. She also studied international politics at the University of London.

Fun Fact
Having lived in many different parts of the country during her stint in broadcasting, Debra is a true Midwesterner at heart. She loves being back home — shopping on Michigan Avenue and catching her daughter’s tennis matches and her son’s football games.
